You can also see when a cold front is moving up the country. Go first to invercarill and look for the south or southwest wind.
( i.e if invercarill has a southweast wind and dunedin does not, the the fornt is only over the south of the southisland). You can see all cites get the southwest wind as it move up to Auckland this may take up to 36hours.
